Indoor Hydroponic Green Beans Using The 600 Watt Higrow LED Grow Light

I was sent this 600 watt LED grow light manufactured by HIGROW so I decided to test it out on a few bush green beans in hydroponics.

Below I have posted a video of the first 2 weeks of growth and under the video I have more photos and details about the light and what I did.  I will be updating this page with more videos and photos all the way up to the final harvest.

The grow light comes with a hanger which just clips on and I suggest getting a set of rope ratchet grow light hangers to make it easy to adjust the height of the light above the plants easily.  I started the beans in a wet paper towel and then after 2 days the main tap root starts to come out of the bean seed.  At this point I put the beans in wet 1.5 inch rockwool cubes and put them in a washed out ice cream pail with plastic on top under a fluorescent light fixture until the roots started to come out the bottom of the rockwool.  See below.

The grow light features lighting modes, VEG, FULL SPECTRUM, and BLOOM which you can change with the switches on the side.  It also has 2 extra large cooling fans and extra long ventilation on the 4 sides of the light.  See Below.

I put the newly sprouted beans in deep water culture hydroponics at this point.  For nutrients I used 900 PPM of Maxigro and 200 PPM of Ocean Solution minerals.  I put the light on VEG mode for 16 hours on and 8 hours off with a timer until some nice roots emerged from the net pots into the nutrient solution.  See below.

1 WEEK LATER:

At this point I put it on FULL SPECTRUM MODE to give the plants more of what they need until they start to flower.  Two plants had a little leaf damage from being slashed with nutrients accidentally.  No big deal since they are doing so well.

I had a 2 extra plants and decided to put them in Fox Farm potting soil and put them under a Kingbo 45 watt LED grow light just to see how they would do.

UPDATE SINCE THE VIDEO WAS FILMED (WEEK 3):

Here they are at the end of week 3.  As you can see they are growing very fast in the hydroponics and slower in the soil.
